Native American "hard goods"

The three-tier bracelet was made by a Navaho silversmith called High Eagle. I bought it in Kayenta, Arizona when there was nothing there but a trading post owned by an Irishman callled O'Brien. Now there is a Hilton hotel, Kentucky fried chicken and smog.

The second bracelet is "old pawn" and made of dollar silver -- silver dollars hammered and used for jewelry. "Old pawn" is the term used for items pawned and never reclaimed.

The squash blossom necklace was a gift given to me in Taos, New Mexico.
