Nostalgia
A trip to Aviemore for a meeting with an Area Support team.
After our discussions I had some time to have a sandwich and look around Aviemore - a place I tend to pass by on my way to Inverness.
The place was active with walkers, mountain bikers and general tourists and families. Indeed the train up this morning had many tourists being helped by Scotrail staff (offering suggestions for visits and dealing with fares). Indeed, a young German couple opposite sampled a (small) taste of whisky before 10am!
My lunch was enlivened by the Strathspey railway as the steam engine set off for its afternoon run. It evoked childhood memories of seeing - and smelling - the Flying Scotsman arriving in Waverley.
