A Golden Nodding to Welcome Home
Its been a long day full of Chores but with a Happy Ending! Both the Cleaning and Ordering Things and the Happiness in the End were brought about by the Arrival of Willemien&Mischa here at the Carlsheaven Foresthill. As I know the longing for a decent meal after a day of train journey, I did the preparation for that part. And for the tired eye, that yearns for a clean pillow in an orderly home, there are many hang-ups in detail to set free irritation and deception. Of course you can’t control them all. But I did my best in arranging the Welcome Home.
Meanwhile the sun was playing hide and seek, rainshowers kept the garden fresh and watered. So for me was left to cut the outgrowing green to prevent a stumbling or hitching - in short an impression of carelessness on “the garden round first thing in the morning”. By accident I inspected the terrace when suddenly the sun broke through to glimmer up some small cone flowers. And certainly this was going to be todays photo contribution. Its a kind of gesture to express my deep gratitude for being together again.
It was strange and comic to hear both the ladies speak German together. At the last interchange - ten minutes before arrival - they had switched to exercising an everyday German tongue. A funny effect in anticipation on our plans for shifting residence to Karlshafen, next year. When you enjoy this fabulous capacity to read, write and speak several languages fluently, your access to other cultures, visions and forms of life is expanded enormously and vividly. This does not yet mean that you can understand the silent nodding of a cone flower, when the warming glow of the sun breaks through and at the same time the wind is rising as the rains will fall.
