Summer Exhibition

A friend and I who share a love of the visual arts were determined to get to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition before it ends this Sunday. We managed it today. She adores monochrome, I am a colour junkie. She favours smooth and mysterious, I love swirly and textured. So we debated our way enjoyably around the exhibition.

Some of it we rated brilliant and highly desirable, some was frankly odd, and some seemed distinctly less talented than I have seen in the art room of our local school sixth form - or maybe even on the walls of the kindergarten. Some was frankly rubbish. I know, eye of the beholder ...
