35 days to go
After a day of meetings ( including a great discussion with Ashley Cameron, Vonnie Sandlan and Harry ONeil from Who Cares Scotland about what more needs to be done to make sure that for care leavers Scotland is really the best place to grow up ) I went across to Marchmont to speak at a YES meeting organised by Edinburgh South YES and chaired by Jim Eadie MSP.
I shared the platform with Michelle Thomson from Business for Scotland and Blair Jenkins and there was a lively but thoughtful Q&A .
The event was held in The Gillis Centre, a Roman Catholic conference venue which also hosts bed and breakfast visitors. When I was introduced to the staff member who welcomed us I had to admit that despite many years in the city , and frequent periods passing along Strathearn Road almost every day, I had no idea that this very attractive small campus existed nor that it housed within it this lovely little chapel, dedicated to St Margaret of Scotland.
