Eva's first steps ..... Xxx

I was sat working from home this afternoon, when my mobile rang and the name of Eva's nursery flashed up on the screen. Immediately you think "oh no, what's happened?" Kerry from nursery came on the phone and asked me if I wanted the good news or the bad news? My mind was racing thinking oh no. She said "Eva has fallen off the bench and cut her lip, but she's ok." So I'm thinking, that's the bad then the good news then. "And the good news is...." I said "I thought the good news was that she's ok?" She said "No. The good news is that Eva has just taken 4 steps which we got on film and then gone on to take 16 more, we counted!!!" Well, I was absolutely thrilled. How lovely of them to ring me and tell me that! I wanted every detail and asked if she could email me the video so I could forward it to Mike and surprise him. She couldn't get the email to send, but I didn't say a word to Mike and got him to come with me to collect Eva to surprise him. Well, as soon as we walked in one of the other girls who knew I was Eva's mom said "big day today then?!" I said "ssshhh, it's a surprise". The girls in the room let it slip too, but I think Mike had guessed by this stage. Eva was so ecstatic to see us both there and took 2 lots of quite a few steps towards me, showing off her new walking skills. Oh my gosh, what an amazing feeling it was seeing her take those precious steps, and be so so proud of herself. I scooped her up and we just cuddled each other and just sat there on the nursery floor for a good while just hugging. I love those cuddles. Eva clings onto me so tightly.

Do you think we could get her to walk once we got home for a photo for today's momentous blip? We had to settle for this pic of her stood up next to me whilst we watched snippets of Toy Story 2.

So, we have a little walker 2 days after she was 18 months old :-) yippeeeeee. Can't wait to go to Tickety Boo in the morning to see if she does any more walking with all that space around her.
