Codillero
Another unapologetic cheesy postcard view but only family and a few friends look at this tripe anyway and I suspect even fewer read it. We placed another pin on the virtual Google Earth map and ended up in another fishing village on the Cantabrian coast. After being informed that it would be well nigh impossible to find a hotel room here in August we sauntered into the first hotel in the town, asked for a room and got one. It had a jacuzi bath and was situated about 3 millisconds from the centre of town. In the evening we ate even more seafood, lobster, two types of crab, mussels, scallops, razorfish, clams, langostines and giant prawns, all served on a platter. If you ordered this in London you would have had to to re-mortgage your home or claim it on an MP's expenses. Here it only made a tiny dent in my small wallet.
We should be going into the mountains tomorrow but I fear the car will break down soon so we will just head along the coast until it does. Watch out for the next episode.
