Can't Kill A KIA

I was warned that it rained in Galicia but what I didn't expect was the kind of rain that I lived with for forty years of my life in Scotland. Persistent, heavy rain that seeped into the bones not to mention my cheap trainers and rendered doing anything outdoors totally pointless. I done what any man would do under the circumstances and bought my wife a ring from an artisan stall on the seafront in Vivero a few kilometers from our base.

Afterwards we found a quiet sandy beach to park the car and eat our bread, cheese and jamon whilst staring out the windscreen at the torrent of water falling down on the land. I unconciously decided to torture the KIA by leaving the headlamps on and thus rendering it dead. That´ll teach it not to mess with me again! A Spanish couple in a motor home were parked nearby and, aware of the terrible predicament the car was in, not to mention Marie, proceeded to bring the KIA back to life by some sort of electric shock treatment last seen in almost every episode of Casualty and ER. It always involves two long cables, electricity and the refrain "Clear". Apparently I had to thank this couple for doing what they did.

Got back to base and ate more seafood.
