Fringeing...
First full day of the Fringe, hopping between venues and shows. Standing in long queues in the rain, engaging in mildly adversarial banter with those handing out fliers, carefully plotting the best coffee stops and GF lunch/dinner options, and being invited to unstack our own seats and put them where we liked for a show. Yes - all the hallmarks of an authentic Fringe experience!
Standout show of the day was the ever-wondrous Lady Carol at the Free Festival (you pay what you think the show is worth) at the Bookshop venue on Holyrood Road. She was magical - quirky, darkly comic, a great musician and a simply awesome singer. Worth many pennies indeed. Go see. She's a joy.
