DogFest
I was trying to find the date of an event at Losley Park when I saw they were doing another called DogFest. Inviting everybody and their dogs to join in activities and watch demonstrations of Flyball, the Metropolitain Police Dogs, Doggie Dancing and Duck Herding. To be present Channel 4 SuperVet Noel Fitzpatrick who would give talks, lead a dog walk for Charity and give out awards for Doggie Heros. I got on the blower to a lovely lady and told her that a group of photographers, how many I had no idea, might like to turn up...and would she give us a discount in return for some pics?
She loved the idea, told me the names of secret celebs who would be there and a promo code which didn't work! I got on the blower again and we were given complimentary tickets.
Cut a long story short, five of us turned up, as doggies aren't everyone's cup of tea, whilst the official photographers failed to. We were given a brief and found ourselves the photographers for the day with competition only from the Channel 4 film crew! It was brilliant fun. :)
We walked straight into the ring to photograph the action whilst Samantha was happy to photograph the stalls as she doesn't really like dogs. The owners of the Flyball participants kept getting in the way, the duck herding and doggie dancing were great fun, the show by the Met was as good as any show can get. Vincent became celebrity shadow, photographing Michael Ball as he judged the best dog, bitch and prettiest dog whilst Linda, Catherine and I set out to photograph a plethora of dogs and their owners. I know I got a few shots of Noel Fizpatrick and Michael Ball but I'm not sure any of us bothered about Chris Evans presenting the Hero Dog awards. We've taken shots of just about every breed and enjoyed every minute. This was my shot of the Dog Docking. Nothing to do with tails but queues waiting to throw balls into a swimming pool so the dogs would jump...sometimes.
Photographed out and dog tired but still smiling! I've not had time to load any of my photos to the site yet but the others have. Dogs rule on this page!
