Jaggy Thistle

It was my Dads 70th birthday at the end of June. He is a real canal enthusiast and my parents used to take us on narrowboat holidays when we were children. So my sister and I decided to treat them to a day out on a narrowboat for his birthday. There are plenty of narrowboats for weekend / week hire but I struggled to find one for day hire which we could drive ourselves. Finally found the Jaggy Thistle which seemed to fit the bill.

So today was the day - we had been hoping for sunshine but no, instead it chucked it down with rain all day. Granny, Grandpa and I did most of the steering out in the wet and I don't know about them, but I was soaked all the way through to my underwear by the end of the day! Despite that, it was a fun day with us taking the boat up the Falkirk Wheel, 3 locks, 2 tunnels ... and back! Ethan is now desperate for us to do a longer narrowboat holiday so he can experience sleeping on one too!
