Building Blocks
Ethan and Eden took a long time to go to sleep last night. I kept having to go in to tell them off for chatting and at 8.30pm when I went in, I found them sitting side by side in Ethan's bed, colouring in pictures together! They finally dropped off (in seperate beds!) around 9pm!
Despite this late night, they still both got up at 6.10am - ouch! They played nicely together for an hour or so though which let hubbie and I curl up in bed a bit longer. Just as well cos I'd had a terrible nights sleep, worrying about what we were going to do with Zoe. I wanted to bury her in our garden but when we tried last night, we found it impossible to dig deep enough through the tough soil / builders rubble which is beneath. Anyway, hubbie finally managed to find an area in the front garden which was easier to dig and we have now buried her there. Still feeling very emotional about her and the house feels very quiet without her here. Our other 3 cats have seemed rather out of sorts today - hard to put my finger on but I'm sure they're aware something is wrong.
Hubbie was doing some overtime today so I took both kids to their gymnastics class. Ethan sat and watched videos on the ipad while Eden was in her class and by the time she had finished and he had gone in to his class, she was worn up and curled up on my lap while I chatted to a mummy friend.
Home for an early lunch, then Eden had a sleep. I tried to get Ethan to have a sleep too since he hadn't slept long enough last night but he wasn't having any of it. Lots of quiet time watching tv seemed to suit him instead.
Hubbie then popped round to a neighbours house as they are having a new driveway laid and he had been told he could have their old monoblock. So he has now transported some of it round to our house, the plan being he'll extend our driveway with it ...... wonder how many years that will take to get done!!
I then took Ethan and Eden to the Almond Valley Heritage Centre for a run around. We had a mixed time there. At some points they were holding hands happily, best of pals. At others one or the other would be grumpy or, in Eden's case, having the worst tantrums ever! Ho hum!
Back home for a chinese takeaway and Foreveryoung had arrived too, to take Eden back home.
I really need a good nights sleep tonight. Feeling very worn out - both emotionally and physically.
