Falling stars

These plants are commonly known in the UK as Montbretia (or crocosmia) but in the USA they are often called 'falling stars' which, I think, is a great name. I took this shot looking down on them from steps leading up to the front door. I have also tweaked with a polar coordinates filter which creates a kind of Christmas tree look to the leaves, with the flowers like the tree's fairy lights or 'falling stars'. The raindrops on the leaves will remind me of just how wet it has been today. I hope the summer returns!
