The biggest caterpillar in the world!
Today was sunny so we spent the day working in the garden. Al was building more path while the boys helped me shred the pruning from the soft fruit bushes. I then sowed winter salad seeds for overwintering in the greenhouse while the boys played in the garden.
This big fella was found in the veg garden while I was sowing seeds. At first I was unsure what it was - it looked half slug half caterpillar. It is about 6 cm long! It's the hugest caterpillar I've ever seen. It looks like it is shedding a skin maybe? I've no idea what it will turn into, but we've put it into our butterfly "cage" in the hope that we will find out!
We finished the day with a BBQ and then a big fire in the firepit which was fab to sit by with my pimms & lemonade.... tho next time I will remember the marshmallows when I go to tesco!
