Took Dad to see the Lancaster

A tip off from fellow Camera Club member Nelson that the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster would be flying past meant a quick dash over the pennines.

Dad is normally not too keen on going anywhere far but was soon out of his chair for this trip. I don't think he has even been over the Snake Pass for 3 or 4 years so it was quite a big thing for him.

Dad was RAF just after WWII - he was RADAR technician not flight crew but did get one trip in a Lancaster as a passenger in his time. He was amazed we got such a good view as it slowly passed us as it went down the Upper Derwent Valley over the Ladybower Reservoir.

The area is all about different birds tomorrow when there is a Hen Harrier Day meeting tomorrow morning
