Regular visitor

My buddleia bush has earned its place in the garden and now has a number of regular visitors.

There's a neurotic Peacock butterfly who gets in quite a state if I approach with my macro lens. He's OK when I'm halfway across the garden with the 300mm ! He's also very aggressive with other visitors and I've seen several Small Tortoiseshells run for cover when he's landed on the same flower.

The other Red Admiral that I chose a few days ago has a richer, redder colour but this one is far less worried by the blipping goings on and will let me approach with the macro lens too. Instead of taking off and circling, this one just lands with a bit of camouflage (loving the finished loganberry leaves as he blends in).

It was windy and he only repositioned himself when he was actually blown off the bloom. Battered, seen better days, mature..... quite a character

Wish us all luck this afternoon - it's Forest's first game :-)

Have a good weekend, blippers.
