A few weeks ago, I had booked a half-day's sea kayaking in Brodick Bay for today. But such is the variability of the Scottish summer, the westerly wind was too strong and the Arran Adventures company cancelled. However, we were offered an alternative activity of 'Gorge Walking' instead.

Not having done Gorge Walking before, we decided to crack on and met with our guide Alex who drove us to the 'gorge'. Alex, R and myself slipped and slithered up the torrent of a river before sliding and jumping our way back down. Great fun it was too.

In the afternoon, Mrs AB and the kids went to Brodick Castle. I horsed over Goat Fell, North Goat Fell, Cir Mhor and Caisteal Abhaill before returning to Lochranza. 18.7km. The photo is of the only view I got on the traverse. It rained, a lot.
