Bridge closed

Up above the workers are digging and scraping. Putney is delightfully traffic free. Down below it looks pleasant enough at low tide but the rather fetid water is oozing downstream. Behind me are the Putney sewer outlets which are as usual, strewn with an unpleasant medley of toilet litter.

Looks like I'm gonna be stuck here the whole summer
Well what a bummer
I can think of a lot worse places to be
Like down in the streets
Or down in the sewer
Or even on the end of a skewer
