Ginger mint ...

.... does very well in my garden, as do most other mints. Delicious to gather a big handful, pop it in the pot, pour over boiling water, infuse for about 5 minutes then drink. Lemon balm and lemon verbena can also be added for extra zing.

Jezebel last night was a typical farce, lots of rushing around, misunderstandings, and genral silliness. It could have been a lot funnier and maybe a bit more substance to it, but the finale was very funny with two woman, impregnated sort of unknowingly (everyone knew but thought no-one else did) by the same man, giving birth simulatneously and very loudly! The tiny village hall was packed and so hot.

Just had a really lovely swim . Lots of jellies in one area but I carried on and the water was crystal clear and nothing untoward lurking. Lots of information in the local paper about what to do if you're stung - peeing on the area apparently doesn't help! I always thought that's what you were meant to do but no - bathe with yet more salt water. Now you know.
