Room for a few more on top!

It was definitely an insect day today, especially flies. Just on a quite ordinary walk all the umbellifers on the verges were just alive with flies, bees and bugs. If I hadn't been up against a deadline I could have spent a happy few hours with my ID books around one clump of thistle, hogweed and valarian. I realised that, despite retirement, I'm still not allowing myself enough time to just stand and stare (and photograph)!
