Origami anyone?
I am in the habit after dropping my kids off at school of running home and straightening the house up a bit. Every day, while moving a pillow, cleaning up paperwork, picking up toys, misc....all of a sudden, a new "paper animal" will come into view. They are hidden in places all over my house. That is all because of my eldest son, Loren. Ever since he was a few years old, he has taken a liking to any kind of artistic endeavor that comes his way.
I first knew art was going to be his obsession when he was around 3-4 years old. We went to a party & there was the infamous party game----a pinata. Kids took their turns beating on the poor, helpless character hanging from a tree until finally it busted open. All the kids ran wildly with bags in hand to collect all of the candy treasures. Then my little man, just a preschooler, runs out with his baggie and ignores the candy altogether. He runs so quickly for all of the confetti, streamers and pieces that broke off of this pinata character and excitedly places it all in his baggie stating "Mommy, I'm going to make an art project outta these!"
Origami is his newest obsession. He tells me that many days at school, during recess, he takes to making a new paper creation. There are birds, penguins, many frogs, decorative boxes & a huge supply of ninja stars should an occasion arise that I would need them! The list goes on and on. There are these little reminders of Loren floating all over my house right now....so I thought it would be fun to capture this in a picture. The ones in this picture, of course, are just a small portion of how many we now have!
