Madness

"Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind." Ecclesiastes 1:17

Today was Ross' birthday. He is 15 years old now!! This was his favourite birthday card that he received so I took a picture of it. This led me to the above Bible verse which I thought was quite interesting. This person speaking applied himself to learning everything he could and understanding everything. He likened this to a great burden though and that with knowledge and wisdom comes great sorrow. I guess when you know too much you can see all of the bad as well as all of the good. I wonder sometimes what God intended for us, if you go back to Adam and Eve they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, if this hadn't of happened what would life be like now? I don't think God wanted us not to know, I think he was protecting us, like a father protects his children from knowing too much. We were not ready to know about good and evil, it changed humanity at it's core to start to see bad things that could be done. Imagine a world without sin... This is ultimately why God sent Jesus to die for us, no amount of sacrifice was ever going to atone for all the sins committed and were going to be committed. This means we now have an opportunity to experience the world as God intended when we go to heaven, but the only way here is through Jesus...
