Lion

"The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God." Daniel 6:23

Here is a picture of my sister's cat Coben relaxing on Jeremy's knee!! He is looking very relaxed indeed. I often think that Coben looks like a miniature lion, but much more friendly!! So that made me think about Daniel and the Lion's Den which can be found in Daniel 6. Daniel was very respected by the king at the time and this made the other people jealous, so they tried to find some corruption in Daniel's life, only there wasn't any to be found. So they convinced the king to make a law that no person should worship anyone other than himself. So this gave the people a reason to bring Daniel before the king for punishment because he prayed to God. The king had no choice but to throw him into the lion's den. But Daniel survived because he was innocent and he prayed and had faith in God. God sent angels and kept the mouths of the lions shut so they did not attack him. Yet when the king threw in other people the lions jumped straight on them and attacked them. A bit gruesome!!

This account does encourage us to be faithful to God and that God will be faithful to us also....
