In Italy
Well, nearly! These are the restored Italian Gardens at Trentham designed by Sir Charles Barry in the 1840's. They've been 'updated' by Tom Stuart-Smith into one of the largest contemporary perennial plantings in Europe.
Also available is a much more informal and naturalistic planting by Piet Oldouf which was lovely, but I decided on this picture in the hope that briefly you'd think I'd jetted off to Italy!
