Watering the veg patch
or pumping out the cellar under the horse stables.
Rain has now caused the level to rise so high it is leaking out in to the adjoining shelter. Not a real problem as the shelter has a concrete floor but it adds to the flies enjoyment of irritating the horses.
Like to keep the cellar flooded as in a "normal" summer it is ,with probably in excess of 100,000 liters of water, a good reserve in case of fire in or near the property. Our local fire brigade machine probably only has a few thousand liters and normally the stream only an inch or two deep.
