Wedding!!

Today we, along with Victoria and a number of families from our Church travelled to Clitheroe, Lancs for the wedding of a good friend from Church. Katie was irritated by the journey until the appearance of Peppa Pig/Wooly & Tig on the iPad. It was a stunning drive through beautiful parts of Yorkshire I have not seen before. Traffic delayed us slightly but we made it before too long. Katie went off to the church with Victoria, while I photographed the "getting ready". She played with her cousin and her friends. During the (AMAZING) service, they coloured. In the aisle. Right at the back, out the way, just looking very cute. She went off to the reception venue with friends and proceeded to make a big stack of loom band items while I did the formal bridal portraits. I got a massive cuddle when I came back.

Then followed a fabulous afternoon. All her best friends from church were there - they're all here in the photograph. They were so well behaved. She ate loads, she played loads, she smiled even more. They played with the photo props, they played with bubbles, they gathered the "gems" from the table decorations, they ate the chocolates from the favours, they hid under tables, they took photographs on disposable cameras and marvelled at the old-fashionedness of "film" and "winding on". They twirled, they skipped, they laughed.

Come evening, they started the ceilidh part of the evening with some fabulous dancing on the dance floor. Come 9pm, she slept. Very quickly. Not a peep from one street away from the wedding.

A very very long day for mama. By the end of it, the only word I could think of for roundabout was microwave. I collapsed into bed after midnight, having left it at 5am and not stopped in between. But a very very happy one for Katie! Congratulations to the lovely Angus & Ruth
