Daydreaming..
The nice thing about the bench is that we're sat above the landscape in front of us. After breakfast, and TAO, we went out to have a sit, and gaze upon the world around. Clouds scurried across the sky dragging their shadows over the hills. There were kids in the sea, sunbathers on the beach, and swallows. Lots of swallows. Gliding on the air, over and around the rock. The warm breeze carried them, while they seek out those small flying insects. They flew above us, they flew below us, and we could gaze down on them..
I made my mind up, that would be my blip for today, looking down onto the croft below, with a swallow flying past. Back to the house to get the camera, and on the bench again. And then sit and wait for the capture.. And wait.. And wait..
The kids were having a lovely time in the sea, dogs were digging in the sand, men were playing in boats by the pier, watched by me on my hill, and walkers on the new bench on Cnoc a' Bhuthain. And I was still waiting..
Swallows are quite small, and they knew I was trying to get them. I tried panning with the camera, but they'd dart out of the way just as I released the shutter. I tried manual focus, adjusted to a distance I guessed they'd be at as I panned. I did manage to get one, but is was a blur of feathers. Seagulls proved easier, not quite so quick. And grasses, and wire fence strainers, but no swallows.
I was also distracted but having to throw a frisbee for Tanni, but even she tired and sat down to watch the beach activities. And that's when I took this picture.. Quite like it..
