Cherry Compote

This is Bonne Maman Cherry Compote, one of my absolute favourite pancake fillings. We used to be able to get it at Sainsbury's, where we do our usual weekly shop, but they stopped stocking it a few months ago and I felt most bereft.

After failing to find it in France (yes, despite looking very carefully), a colleague of mine managed to order some from Ocado and kindly brought it into work for me, and after a tip-off that it was available in Waitrose we decided to go and investigate.

On our first outing after the snow a couple of weeks ago we went to the nearest Waitrose to seek out this delicacy, and, joy of joys, there it was! So I bought three jars, which should last for a while, although what with having pancakes on Saturday and Sunday mornings these days it doesn't hang around for long.

Then it'll be time for a return visit!
