End the blockade of Gaza. What can I do?

Well, you can start here. There was a great turnout in Norwich for an event organised by Norwich Stop the War around ending the blockade of Gaza. It was a focused, moving gathering and gave much food for thought. You can see my photos here.

After the demo several activists carried out awareness raising actions in McDonalds and Starbucks to make people aware that these corporations have blood on their hands. We went in, with our placards, made our points, and came out. The police followed us. I - and others -took photos and bore witness. There were no arrests because there was no need to arrest anybody.

I was heartened by a conversation I had with a woman in Starbucks who told me that she had been active in boycotts to bring about the end of apartheid in South Africa and thanked us for 'waking her up' (her words) to what is going on in Gaza.

And this, ladies and gents, is why I love doing this kind of photography. It doesn't sell but by god it makes people think.

I can't get this out of my head. It's from a report by Guardian reporter Philip Beaumont in Gaza: "He came toward me carrying a plastic bag. It's contents terrible. This, he said, is my son".
