Old colleagues

Slightly out of the blue, always good to get a call from old friends. Yesterday a couple with their two kids who used to work with us phoned and said they were staying in the Ardeche and asked if they could come by. Today they came for a barbecue in what is traditional English barbecue weather. Great to leave Darling Son #2 babysitting as we went for a walk. It gave him a good excuse to watch some kid's film he had recorded! Now in new pastures, it was good to catch up.
High excitement later in the day as we waited for H and J to arrive, it being H's birthday. All happened slightly earlier than expected but cake and presents were produced and much food eaten and wine drunk.
