A wet start

Met the group at 7:30am this morning - first order of the day was to change the planned start via Lac Blanc to allow for the torrential rain - not what they or I was hoping for.
We did a quick tour of Chamonix to show them the sights - but to be honest at 9am in the rain it was hard work. We'd decided we'd head up to the Petit Balcony and walk through the woods - a coffee break at Le Floria passed in the rain - but as we headed out it started to break a little and I was able to grab this quick blip on a flower covered stretch of path.
I feel for the clients - the trip up to Lac Blanc is one of the highlights of the Tour, but with solid cloud from 1800m and occasional peels of thunder it just wasn't an option - hopefully they'll see something of the Chamonix side of the mountains before we head into Switzerland. Simon the other guide says this year the weather has been very very mixed - so I'm guessing we'll be doing a lot of last minute alterations to this tour.
