Day 13

Botallack mines.

One of the boss's ambitions on holiday was to go to the Minack Theatre in Porthcurno. Its about 1 1/2 hr drive from where we are staying so we wanted to spend the day at the end of the world. First stop was a trip to Penzance, just a peek, as we stayed near there in Mousehole 3 years ago, then it was off to Porthcurno.

Wow, the road up to the Theatre was narrow, glad i wasn't the one trying to come down. Once we were there the girls when and got their tickets as the boys were going for a walk. The girls thoroughly enjoyed "The Producers" and the setting was spectacular, especially as it was forecast to rain on that day but the sun shone down.

So what to do next? well i wanted to see the Botallack mines whilst i was that far down so we set the sat nav and off we went. On the way we did an emergency stop as there was a bed and breakfast serving cream teas, so we did a sharp turn into their carpark and had some yummy things.

As you can see by the image we did make it to the mines where i took many images of the same thing, lol. Unfortunately it wasn't going to be a great sunset so we didn't stay to the end.
