Down a bit.....

My landline has been out of order since the middle of last week. Strange really; the broadband was almost OK, just dropping off every now and again, but I couldn't make or receive calls. Of course, when you report it online they do a line test and then say the line's fine, so if I want an engineer to come out it will cost £130 if they find the fault is inside the house. Well, after two days of head scratching, sharp intakes of breath, searching and digging up most of the village, they've finally found and fixed the fault. And it was their line, so it didn't cost me anything!
