Queen Sirikit

Here is another example of an unexpected Blip. As I came back home, I saw this stand in my condo lobby.
It shows Queen Sirikit. She is the spouse of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, King of Thailand, also known as Rama IX since he is the 9th monarch of the Thai Chakri dynasty. The King of Thailand is the longest reigning sovereign in the world.
King Bhumibol met Queen Sirikit in Paris, as she was the daughter of the Thai Ambassador to France. They first got engaged in Lausanne, Switzerland as the King was pursuing his studies there. They married in 1950, just a few weeks before King Bhumibol's coronation on 5th May 1950.
Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's birthday falls on 12th August. This is widely national holiday celebrated in Thailand. This day has become Mother's Day since the Queen is considered the Mother of all Thai people.
