Arrrrr!
Drove back up from Perth today. Stopped at the highland folk museum- which is really nice (and free, with a cool play park). Glorious weather.
There were some ducks and ducklings in one of the houses- Ivy peered at them and copied their quack quack sounds. (until Euan chased them out with a wooden fork shouting 'nom nom') her animal impressions are great- her Miaow is particurarly good. She also copies the hiss (and the occasional squeak) a water logged sophie la giraffe makes when squeeezed.
She was just being carried about in a nappy as it was so warm- and the problem with this is there's no vest to stop her nappy for sliding down- so she peed on Euan whilst he was holding her. I probably found this funnier than Euan did...
Sat outside for lunch, and Ivy hoovered up strawberries and alot of a bannana.
Ate our first yellow courgette for dinner in a tomato pasta sauce. Delicious.
Ivy is getting cleverer and cleverer. This morning she and I had a stand off, when I told her to 'come' and signaled her, and she sat back and did the exact same to me (altough she did come to me eventually). She's also beginning to understand 'give __ to ____' and this evening when she was playing up past her bedtime as she wasn't tired having slept in the car most of the way, she was practising making matches- picking up a biscuit cutter that matched the one I was showing her. She learns the rules for new 'games' like these very quickly.
