Bright Buses
The bus invasion is on, Zihuatanejo has been inundated with vacationers from the colder inland cities. Having just spent two weeks in Pátzcuaro, I can certainly understand the attraction of a warm, sunny beach (that is after all why we relocated here in the first place), but the dozens upon dozens of buses, like those shown here, that arrive this time of year totally change the complexion of our beloved little town. We now have lifeguards on our beach (as well as Marines toting guns), we have long lines at the grocery store, and a mercado crammed with slow-moving out of towners. I know it is good for the local vendors, but it difficult to get used to after so many months of pretty much having the place to ourselves. Oh well, the price one must pay for living in a tourist zone.
