Long time ago

I saw Geranium cinereum in the Pyrenees. Flat to the ground on a windy limestone bluff, the delicate flowers danced in the wind. In the garden, this plant raised from wild seed, grows taller (up to 15cm) but the flowers still dance .... in even the slightest breeze.

Notice the lilac edged anthers - another of natures wonderful details.

There are several named cultivars available from garden centres, all floriferous and easy to grow, appropriately one of the best known is named 'Ballerina'. :-)
