The run of butterflies continued with this meadow brown today on a walk past the McLaren factory. I'm working on a walk for the FT Old lags, not quite ready yet but it will go across Horsell Common so it's going to be called the War of the Worlds walk (since Horsell Common is where the Martians landed in H G Wells's book). A little further on we stopped for a cup of tea at the Fairoaks airfield cafe, hence today's blip of a shiny nose cone.
In The World Set Free, published in 1914, Wells was the first person to use the term, atomic bomb.
Just looked back a year to the day and where were we then? On Horsell Common. I haven't been there for months. Could there be a coincidence gene?
