Leftover from the past.
This all that remains of two brick kilns which were built by the canal where we had our walk today. The chimney has long gone but good to see the rest has been preserved. Built in the 1800's - the bricks produced were transported on the canal. Nearby ponds (originally clay pits) are supposed to have goldfish in them - put there by local residents, but not visible today.
We stopped for home made elder flower cordial in a cafe and then went out to lunch. Spent the afternoon looking at hotels for our last night in Turin in September and a Harrogate trip in December.
Off to play a 'hot' game of bridge tonight.
