Stylish dinner chaps!
We got up at 5.15 am -getting used to it - for the bumpy, twisty drive out. Although only 40 km, it took 2 hours, then it was a long drive to Kununara. Although a small, tidy town, it has just built a very big courthouse. Apparently there is a lot of crime in the area. Our final destination was Lake Argyll, a huge reservoir and hydro power scheme. We had a lovely relaxing boat trip on the lake, where, in addition to freshwater crocodiles, we saw rock wallabies. Cuter than crocs! Our group works well together, collecting firewood, doing the camp chores, and preparing food. However last night one of the more competitive Australian women challenged a group of lads to make a better dinner than her cook group. What a mistake! The chaps, led by two young Brits, had the advantage of our stop in the town, so in addition to making an amazing beef oyster sauce stir fry, they'd got a tablecloth and candles, and had put some wild flowers in a bottle. The gentlemen then took a lady's arm to a sort her to dinner. No contest, especially as they'd bought the first cake we'd seen in a week!
