On high

Today we went up on high to La Garde-Guerin and did a decent five hour walk up and down into the Chassezac gorge ending up at La Garde-Guerin - a fortified village that you can see in the background of this image with a visiting friend from England in the midground.
The weather was relatively kind, although still not summery, and at the end we met darling son #2 at La Bastide railway station before eating at St Laurent Les Bains. A repas industrielle that was a great example of the strength of rustic French cooking in the smallest of towns.
