Helenium 'Sahin's Early Flowerer'
I find this flower fascinating. Both flowers are on the same plant. The one to the right of the screen is more recently opened than the one on the left. They provide a wonderful splash of colour in the corner of the patio.
At one time the leaves were used in snuff making which leads to its other name of "Sneezeweed". It has proved (for us at least) a reliable herbaceous perennial growing to a couple of feet high.
The rest of the day was tied up in preparing a bedroom for decorating and choosing a new carpet.
