at home with an Ivysaurus

Big bed nap

Ivy nabbed herself in a nap in our bed this morning after her second morning feed. She used to sleep in our bed all the time but it doesn't happen often now. She fell asleep whilst nursing, and when I unlatched her she objected in her sleep, clapping for please before falling asleep again. I like that please is so engrained in her now she does it in her sleep. I hung out with her for a bit, and she grabbed my chin in her sleep and wouldn't let go.

Ivy and I went to the allotment to harvest some dissapoitingly tiny Anya potatoes we had for lunch. Ivy helped dig through and gind the potatoes in the soil. I love that she sees where food comes from. Did some weeding and brough home some huge beetroots for dinner too.

She wouldn't go for a morning nap (or indeed her afternoon one either) so she slept in the carrier on Euan's chest after lunch whilst Euan also slept. Then she and I went to play on the bouncy castle in teh sports center- we were the only ones there. Ivy trying to get over the ledge into the ball pit was hilarious- she looked like a beached whale trying to wriggle her way in.

I picked up a set of magnetic letters in a charity shop recently. Ivy had a great time with them today- we worked out a game together where she would hand me a letter, i'd make the sound for her- she'd repeat it then go find another one. Despite not really sleeping much today- she was in a particularly smiley mood- she was practising 'charging' before dinner. Crawling very fast headfirst into us.

She didn't eat much of her dinner though (beetroot rissoto with beet greens and yoghurt with garden raspberries) which was infuriating because we've just started another 3 day food diary. Hope tomorrow she'll takeher naps so she'll not be tired by dinner time.

Tooth number 3 broke through today. Her first top tooth.
