Is this going to hurt?

Went to a Roman re-enactor fair at Forge Mill Museum, it was only a small do but I thought it was very creditable. I learned some bits about their military that I didn't know before and saw 'in the flesh' a full size replica of a catapult similar to the one that i'm modelling.
I had no trouble with "brats" or obnoxious men although elf and safety was causing some problems. I was a bit surprised that a demonstration like this using a live model and a sharp sword was allowed.
