Cricket Feast

They have been preparing bucket loads of crickets all day downstairs. This involves pulling of the wings and legs. It also involves stepping all these shredded body parts to get upstairs.

As much as I don't want to have to eat these myself (having tried them once, I feel absolved from having to do it again), I love observing these local rituals. So many hours of work for what can only amount to a very small pile of crispy, chewy deep-fried insect carcasses. But a ritual and a delicacy. That matters.
