SILVEREYE Zosterops lateralis

The old Zosterops Lateralis - when we were kids we used to call them "waxeyes' but the book says 'silvereye' - so thats what is must be !!

said to be a Native ( not endemic ) and also found in SE Australia. - a self introduced bird during the mid 1800's.

This one is found in our back yard preening itself after having had a feed of some of Mrs. Poo's discarded jam. Sadly it went hard - but the birds love the sugar content during midwinter.
