What a day

It was a long day. Work was stressy (well I was) and I only escaped at 6pm, an hour later than I'd hoped. But I am now quite ready for my break and I discovered I'd also booked the following Monday off too which I'd forgotten. Bonus!

I dashed home, changed and got on the road to Kent at 7pm. It was still 33C! I had the windows down and the music on loud and thoroughly enjoyed heading off on my summer holiday....

The journey was fine though coming over the QE bridge (blip view taken from it) I could see the whole of Kent was in a massive electrical storm like the one last night. It made for an exciting drive to Dover. Thunder and lightning all the way and still 21C...

I arrived at 9.45pm and the cottage is darling. Three tiny fishermen's cottage knocked into one. Very tasteful, welcoming and spotless with all mod cons. Ab fab. The village is quite Miss Marple!

S and A arrived an hour later and we opened a bottle of fizz as it was A's birthday and had a giggle in the cosy sitting room. I'd opened all the doors and windows as it was so muggy but it was still raining hard and a frog bounced in and round my bedroom and then a snail joined us ! We think it was the three Noah's Ark pictures on the bedroom wall that had attracted them! We got to bed about 1am...
