Cat in a Box
Yesterday I went to Graves Park (Sheffield) to visit the Animal Farm. I took lots of photographs of various delightful and exotic breeds of chickens, doves as well as a collection of farmyard animals from goats to sheep to turkeys.
I was going to choose an image of a big turkey with bags of attitude and entitle it 'The one that got away'. However, this chance image presented itself late yesterday evening.
My wife was trying on some shoes (size 3.5) and placed the box on the sofa. Both cats like to sit in boxes and I commented that this one would be far too small for the cat to even manage to sit in.
Fast forward five minutes and Meg the cat not only appeared from nowhere, but had somehow managed to squeeze into the petite shoebox.
As you can see from the image, she has the look of the cat that got the all the cream. For a few minutes, she appeared to actually like having her photograph taken (unheard of), happily posing for shots, tilting her head towards the camera and generally looking rather pleased with herself.
When we went to bed, she was asleep in her 'new' basket. Today, as is typical of cats, it has been rejected and deemed totally unworthy of her attention.
