Small box of vaseline...
Inspection of a spare gasturbinerotor.
Each blade of the compressor has been inspected by a technician of the manufacturer, that's GE (General Electric).
The inspected blades get a "checked" sticker.
I didn't know where the vaseline was used for, because when I arrived over there, the GE man was already leaving the site.
But I was informed today (27-01-2010) that it was used to lubricate between the shaft and the inlay (the red thing) so it could easily be turned for the inspection.
