End of term
4years 271days
Today was the final day of term for ballet. Also the final rehearsals for tomorrow's shows. Katie practiced hard. Both her dances and the little ones class dances as she is being a big girl for those dances. I ran around doing a multitude of jobs including stitching up tutus that children have broken! After ballet, Katie and three of her friends staged a wee sit-in.
They all refused to leave. I ended up doing the packing for transport of costumes while she ate lunch.
Eventually, her and I headed into town. I realised I had failed to be organised for the teachers end of year gifts. Thankfully, I got this snap of her, "happy because she was very brave with the big mouse". There was a big character mouse collecting money in tesco. She often really dislikes them. This one waved at her from a distance, knelt down, shuffled along to her, checking for smiles as he went, and eventually came up beside her, offering his hand for a high 5, then offering her chance for a cuddle. She did both!!
We got the train home and went to town to get final things for the show. Hair accessory stash now restocked, large cans of spray and gel purchased, snacks for the kids organised- think we are good to go for our chaperoning duties! We also sorted out the teachers cards, personalised with this image, and personalised thankyou chocolate. She wrote each handmade card herself and beautifully. On the way home, she stopped me, grabbed my arm and said "Mummmmmyyyyyy!!!!!" with a massive grin before announcing "after bed, ITS THE SHOW!!!!"
So excuse the slight bending of border rules, but it even more goes with today's blip!
